The construction of the current Lazy Mine started in 1890, the name at that time was Neuschacht (New Pit). In 1950 it was renamed the ‘Antonín Zápotocký Mine’ and in 1991 it was renamed to Lazy Mine finally.
On 1 July 1995, the Lazy, Dukla and František mines were merged into a single spin-off plant under the name Lazy Mine. Coal mining at František was ceased in 1999 and Dukla Mine was incorporated into Paskov Mine as part of the downsizing process from 1st February 2006.
Lazy Mine was shutdown 28 November 2019.
