One of the youngest coal mines in Poland is located near the town of Suszec. Its construction began in 1975 already, but the first coal was extracted in 1983.
Ongoing demolition of the surface structures continues.

Full description
One of the youngest coal mines in Poland is located near the town of Suszec. Its construction began in 1975 already, but the first coal was extracted in 1983.
The mine was named after professor of geology Bolesław Krupiński and was in operation until 2015, when it was decided to shut it down due to persistent economic issues.
All surface buildings will be demolished by the end of 2021.
