Full description
The Makoszowy coal mine was established in 1890. Regular mining operation begun in 1906 under the name of the Delbrückschachte mine. From 1923 until 1931, there were disputes between Germany and Poland over the mine. Since 1945 it has been called Makoszowy and belongs to Poland. However it was partially flooded. In the 1960s, pits no. 3 and 4 were opened, reaching the depth of 717 m and 944 m. Since 2015 the mine was taken over by SRK S.A., the company responsible for the shutdown of the mine. The mining operations were ceased on 31.12.2016.
