Full description
The traditional grey iron foundry and close-die forge was established by entrepreneur František Pospíšil in 1907 at the outskirts of Olomouc.
Between 1911 and 1945 “Moravské železárny” were active as a joint stock company owned by the Moravian Agro and Industrial Bank and was nationalized after 1946.
A remarkable growth in the 1960s and 70s resulted into foundation of new grey iron foundry. This unique construction where different departments (core shop, moulding shop, melting shop and automatic casting line with grinding shop) are divided into separate floors of one building is still in use and rather unique in Europe today.
Since 2013 the works were taken over by UNEX company.
